Financial Help Program of the Canadian Cancer Society

The Canadian Cancer Society offers low-income earners living with cancer an annual allowance for transportation and rehabilitation (material for temporary ostomies, special mastectomy bras, lymphedema treatments and material for incontinence). Certain eligibility conditions apply.

Associations coopératives d’économie familiale (ACEF)

The ACEFs work with low-income population. Fighting to bring about changes in social and fiscal politics, the ACEFs offer direct services to households including budget consultations, negotiations with Hydro-Québec, etc.

These groups work to adequately feed the poverty-stricken population in all regions of Quebec, who turn to food banks for assistance.

Emploi-Québec manages last-resort social assistance services. These services are available throughout the province, in 17 regions and around 158 local employment centres (CLE) or service points. For all information on regional direction and local employment centres (CLE), communicate with the local employment centre in your region.

To obtain general information on public employment service, or last-resort financial assistance, you can also communicate with the Centre de communication avec la clientèle at the ministère du Travail, de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale.

Front commun des personnes assistées sociales du Québec (FCPASQ)

The FCPASQ is a national regrouping of about thirty local and regional organizations whose foremost priority is to promote the interests of the socially assisted population and to defend their collective and individual rights. Notably it guides people in their dealings with the social assistance agents of their local employment centre, when they file a complaint for violation of rights, and to react against budget cuts, etc.
