Project

Hôpital Pierre-Boucher, Longueuil

Contribute to the expansion of Designated Reference Centre for Investigation (CRID) at the Hôpital Pierre-Boucher.

Description

A Designated Reference Centre for Investigation (CRID) located in a hospital of a Health and Social Services Centre, is mandated to provide investigative services of anomalies identified during a screening mammography. Investigative examinations usually carried out by the CRID are: complementary mammographies, breast ultrasounds, ultrasound biopsies, stereotactic biopsies (trocar or macro biopsy) and surgical biopsies. In light of the growing number of people eligible for the Quebec Breast Cancer Screening Program (PQDCS), the increasing rate of participation in the PQDCS, and the increasing number of requests for investigations routed by doctors at the Hôpital Pierre-Boucher, the CRID had to reorganize itself to double the volume of its activities. The Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation is proud to have contributed to the expansion and upgrading of its premises.
