Objective $5,000

Thank-you to all our partners

For several years, La Vie en Rose has been a partner of the Dare to give campaign and donates $1 for each bra donated. In 2018, La Vie en Rose presented the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation with a check for $200,000 to assist with funding access to clinical research for women with breast cancer.

We thank Rouge FM, who offers us a media campaign every year to promote Dare to give.

We thank Certex, our partner who is in charge of collecting the bras and for giving them a second life.

We thank Stéphanie Alexandra Joseph, our ambassador, breast cancer survivor, who volunteers her time to promote Dare to Give.

Where do the donations go?

The donation of $200,000 from La Vie en Rose allows for partial financing of the Accès-Recherche program. The McPeak-Sirois Group, in partnership with the Foundation, aims to give more Quebeckers affected by breast cancer access to clinical trials in every region of the province via this program. The Accès-Recherche program also allows regional hospitals to establish a research infrastructure that conforms to the highest quality standards, which are essential to clinical trials.

Where do the bras go?

The donated bras are handed over to Certex, who takes care of sorting them. ertex not only protects the environment by helping to minimize landfill waste through its sorting centre activities, but also by giving a second life to clothing. The bras go through a quality sorting process. Certain bras, depending on their type and condition, may be sold to local thrift stores. A bra with minor imperfections may be sold for export to developing countries. In order to give a bra a second life, it should not be cut up or modified. This sorting process ensures that more than 100 people with disabilities have permanent employment and occupy positions adapted to their realities that allow them to thrive.
