On Sunday October 29th 2017, an all-star lineup of celebrity chefs will join the top 50 fundraising foodies to compete in the inaugural Culinary Showdown. This extraordinary challenge gives culinary enthusiasts the opportunity to fundraise their way to a chance to cook alongside celebrity chefs in a chopped-style competition as seen on TV!
This unique event includes the following exciting initiatives:
• Celebrity Chefs School 10am - 3pm: Participants learn culinary tips and tricks from a celebrity Chef. They learn trade secrets on food prep, knife skills, cooking methods, and more.
• Cocktail Reception 6:30pm: Participants mingle over cocktails with fellow foodies.
• The Culinary Showdown 7pm: Let the show begin! Audience members enjoy a delicious meal as celebrity chefs and their teams of top fundraisers take the stage. Five teams compete under the spotlight to create three unique dishes and applying the skills mastered during Celebrity Chefs School.
Our judges include: Chuck Hughes, Senator Larry Smith, Mitsou Gélinas and Mitch Garber.
The evening also includes a one-of-a-kind silent and live auction including culinary experiences from the participating chefs.
Honourary Patron : Dr. André Lisbona
Honouree: Nadia Saputo
Co-chairs: Etty Bienstock, Irwin Kramer and Joan Prevost
Two important research projects will be financed by your generosity:
The proceeds will be fully reinvested to advance genetic research and ensure access to genetic testing for breast cancer screening through a research program led by Dr William Foulkes.
Similarly, part of the money will go to Dr Mark Basik's research on personalization and the most advanced treatments for breast cancer.
Thousands of women with breast cancer can improve their chances of survival.
An initiative of Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation and the Jewish General Hospital.
