The Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation present : Ignite the conversation

The Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation is proud to announce that Mathew Knowles, a male breast cancer survivor and father of international artists Beyoncé and Solange, will be the distinguished guest speaker at this year’s Fireside Chat Brunch, which will be held on Thursday October 24th, 2024, at the Marriott Château Champlain in Montreal, QC.

In July 2019, Mathew Knowles was diagnosed with stage 1A male breast cancer.

Mathew was lucky. Fortunately, he caught his cancer early, meaning it was still small and hadn’t spread to the lymph nodes. While he did not require chemotherapy, he underwent a mastectomy and later discovered he carried the BRCA2 gene mutation.

At the Fireside Chat, Mathew Knowles will have a conversation with Catherine Verdon-Diamond, spokesperson for the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation, and Karine-Iseult Ippersiel, CEO of the Foundation. They will discuss topics such as breast cancer diagnosis, early detection, and the importance of testing for both women and men. This event promises to be an inspiring and informative experience, shedding light on an often overlooked aspect of breast cancer awareness.
