A Word from the President and CEO – Nathalie Tremblay

Each year, we reaffirm our commitment to support those who are affected by the disease as well as their loved ones. We work tirelessly to improve the survival rate and the quality of life of those with Breast Cancer. We are also dedicated to advocating for the rights of those touched by the disease, enabling them to gain access to the most advanced care and treatment, to be well-informed, and to receive adequate financial and psychological support. To achieve these goals, the Foundation has invested $46 million over the past 24 years.

Through your continuous support, our contribution has been particularly strong in terms of medical and scientific advances, thanks to our investments in many innovative research projects. The Foundation is now a true scientific accelerator, consistently helping to push the boundaries on what can be achieved.

Cutting-edge research has opened up promising avenues for reducing the number of Breast Cancer cases and increasing the five-year survival rate to 88%. Now, more than ever, we can believe in the future! Recent breakthroughs in new treatments such as immunotherapy and biotherapy are paving the way for personalized medicine and better targeted therapies, bringing a greater hope. Similarly, the advent of artificial intelligence in the health sector will accelerate discoveries and will allow for interventions right from the prevention stage. Advances in technology such as robotics, nanotechnology and radiomics offer a novel and promising vision of the future of cancer care.

For now, however, we know that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer within her lifetime. In order for science to make the necessary breakthroughs for Breast Cancer to become an illness one LIVES with, rather than die from, your involvement and support for the cause remains essential.

I’ll share with you a few ideas on how to get involved during the month of October:

You can also make a monthly donation and contribute throughout the year.

On behalf of all those touched by Breast Cancer, I extend a heartfelt thank you to you!
